I emailed you via cancer survivors network... I am very interested in speaking with you... I am a cancer survivor, cervical cancer...my story is similar to yours...i am an ivy educated architect and single mom... i relocated my life to work on a project for a arch company... they took the project on because i could run it... i am a very diligent and hard working person... pulled a rabbit out of a hat (so to speak)... and completed best project the dinky little office that hired me has done to date...i was exemplery..no severence...only a legal bribe to shut me up...for $5,000...i did not sign, nor did i take the money... i have felt very alone with this...it's a double edged sword...do you get up and act...or do you hide in shame because you have had cancer... i see this man's business growing...he, pretending to be this great humanitarian, while i struggle to support my daughter... i need to act..he is a fraud...there is no excuse for what he has done to me...especially now that i am resettled in a new place and it is difficult (at my level) to find employment... I would love to talk...and help you with this mission on the east coast.

Hi Adrian, I was 'terminated" from my job in a hospital as a nurse on 8/2/06 in the middle of my chemo. I filed a discrimination charge through EEOC 10 days later, went to mediation with my former employer in Nov. 06, and settled out of court so to speak. They were wrong and they knew it. I too was an employee in good standing for 5 years and was devastated! How could they do this I thought! This can't be OK! This isn't OK! When I read your story, it sounded exactly like mine, so I wanted to share my experience with you. I am very satisfied with the settlement on many levels, except that I don't have my job-a job I loved. That is the saddest thing. Good luck and continue to stand your ground. It sounds like you are and good for you for starting a support group for fair employment. I happen to know of several other employees that were "terminated" in the same way as I was, but I think they are outside of the 180 days to file with EEOC. What a shame! Thanks for doing what you are doing!!!

Morning..My surgeons are *******, and ******* my next surgery will be around the 1st week of April. I just cannot work right now and I have so many bills to pay. I was working til 2-14-07 and then got fired for reasons that they said was cause they where hearing things I was Bartending at that time. The place I worked was really clicky so who knows but it really put a weight on the shoulders not being able to work right up to surgery as was planned. So if you have any ideas please help.
